Investing
in Hope
Your support builds a brighter future for the youth of San Jose del Cabo.
Too many families in San Jose del Cabo simply can’t afford to keep their children in school. The Baja Community Foundation helps provide educational opportunities and hope to hundreds of young people each year.
Educate a young person, change the world.
The Baja Community Foundation supports organizations in the San José del Cabo region that work to improve educational opportunities for children and young adults. One example is Liga MAC, a nonprofit that has served the community since 1997 by providing academic, financial, social, and health-related support to students. Through partnerships with organizations like Liga MAC, the Foundation helps create pathways to high school graduation, higher education, and vocational training.
Supporting a dream
Nohemi has dreamed of being a doctor since she was 13 years old. But when her mother became seriously ill, she put her plans on hold and took a job bagging groceries to help support her family.
That’s where the story could have ended, if not for Liga MAC. With the support of donors like you, Nohemi graduated from high school, is studying nursing and is preparing to apply to medical school.
“Liga MAC helped me find my voice,” says Nohemi, “and gave me skills, courage and the desire to pursue my dreams.”
“We feel very strongly that all committed students should have the opportunity to complete school and set themselves up for a better future.”

About us
When Susan and Bill Cornelius began splitting their time between San Jose del Cabo and Seattle, WA, in 2005, they were dazzled by the Cabo scenery and drawn to the warm, friendly people.
Upon learning that many families can’t afford to educate their children through high school, the couple created the Baja Community Foundation to invest in educational opportunities for local students and help break the cycle of poverty.
“This is our home, and we want to make a difference in our community and in the lives of the amazing people in the Cabo area.”
