Why We Play

The Knick Nac Golf Tournament (15th annual on December 2, 2024) was established by Dick and Linda Myers to celebrate the life of Payne Stewart, with participants encouraged to dress in his spirit (knickers/plus fours) while raising funds to ‘Change Lives Through Education.’ The tournament has grown from 18 players, raising $382 in 2009, to 92 players, raising over $60,000 in 2023. Over $180,000 has been raised since its inception, and BCF, through Liga MAC AC, is making a difference in the lives of over 300 students each year.   

For over 25 years, Liga MAC has helped nourish and heal thousands of families in San Jose del Cabo, B.C.S., Mexico. Over 6,500 educational scholarships have been granted to children and young adults to help keep them in, finish high school, attend college, or learn a trade as a way for them to begin earning their way out of poverty. Liga MAC inspires, provides, and supports a safe, consistent learning environment for underprivileged students, helping them achieve both scholastic and personal growth to maximize their potential. Liga MAC is a volunteer-based charitable organization comprised of primarily Mexican, American, and Canadian (MAC) individuals working together to enrich the community, making it a better place for all.
