Rex split his career evenly between business and education. He spent 27 years as Director of Planning and Analysis in the Pacific Northwest Zone of State Farm Insurance and a total of 27 years working as a history teacher and administrator at Martyrs’ Memorial School in Papua New Guinea, Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Faribault Minnesota and Annie Wright School in Tacoma, Washington.

He has served on the Boards of Trustees of Shattuck-St. Mary’s School, Annie Wright School, St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire and Pine Island Camp in Belgrade Lakes, Maine.

In the Tacoma, Washington community where Rex, his wife Angela, and daughters Gabrielle and Amber spent the majority of their time, he served on the Boards of the Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital Foundation, the University of Washington Tacoma Milgard School of Business and the Tacoma Museum of Glass.

Rex and Angela first moved to San Jose del Cabo in 2017.
